NILSA EBERHART Nilsa was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and lived in Switzerland from 1982 to 2009. She began her training in Shiatsu in 2001-2002 with Alexander Fischer (Kiental ISS), and from 2002 to 2006 she studied at the European Shiatsu Institute (ESI) in Switzerland, Germany and Italy, receiving her diploma in Florence. Her interest in working with the body's energies began while training in martial arts at the age of 15, where she could feel the effect of energy projection in the attacks, defenses and meditations. Later, after her mother’s heart surgery, Nilsa began her search on how emotions affect the physical body, and how to heal these without so many drugs. Energy work is an absolutely fascinating field. In her work Nilsa can combine the knowledge and techniques of Shiatsu, Theta-Healing ®, Purification of the energy field, with her knowledge of Chakras for an absolutely individual and effective session. "The Shiatsu therapist is the initiator of a process by which the client is accompanied in the path to awakening of his/her own self healing abilities. We create our own reality. Recognizing, identifying and accepting the problems that beset us expands the awareness of the client / patient beyond the physical body. Thus opening up the energy channels more easily and working to balance them reaches a more profound level." Nilsa is currently part of the staff at the Orthopaedic Institute; a different type of Physical Therapy Institute thanks to its "Spa concept." Here, relaxation is a fundamental part of the recovery of the patient. Nilsa continues her post-graduate studies with the great masters of Shiatsu in Switzerland, Germany, Uruguay and Italy. She plans on acquiring the Shiatsu Higher Diploma at the Shiatsu College in Norwich, England.
